I’m Tanya. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC#18305) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and I have a Master of Counselling degree. I offer individual counselling sessions to adults residing in British Columbia.
I help clients recognize beliefs and systems that keep them stuck, deepen their awareness of why they do what they do and how they can begin to shift. I also help to guide them to develop an authentic sense of self and align with their sense of purpose creating a greater sense of connection to both the self and loved ones. I care deeply about creating genuine therapeutic relationships. My goal is to empower clients by providing a safe and non-judgemental space where they feel heard, validated, and cared for.
Prior to my work in counselling, I worked in Human Resources for private sector businesses. I have always had a passion for helping others and through my own life experiences and therapeutic journey, I decided that I wanted to shift careers and become a counsellor. Outside of counselling, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and going for walks with my little Westie, Ruby.
I work with adults who face a wide range of challenges which include coping with life transitions and challenges, a desire for greater self awareness and self-understanding, healing past hurts, feeling stuck, and those pursuing meaningful change.
My approach is informed by the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship and the use of various therapeutic modalities, techniques, and approaches in our work together which are best practiced and evidence-based. I customize my approach based on the individual client, by learning what resonates best with you and understanding your specific needs and goals.
